Right from the beginning the trainers were amazing! They were always there to help make sure that everyone was challenging themselves during the workouts but without the risk of injury. Within a month I was able to convince my husband to give it a shot also. I have now been with Crossfit Ambition for 10 months and have made many wonderful friends who have helped motivate me and encourage me to do my best.
I recently signed up for the Lurong Challenge which incorporates healthy eating and a different workout every week for seven weeks. Eating a paleo diet for the first time was challenging but was what I needed to do to see the results of healthy eating paired with CrossFit. In seven weeks I saw a huge improvement in the way I felt and looked, plus I dropped 14 pounds. I also competed in my first CrossFit competition in October of this year and felt an unexpected feeling of accomplishment. Although I did not place in this competition I was extremely proud of myself and blown away by the support of not only my trainers and fellow Ambition members but the CrossFit community as a whole. If you are on the fence about giving CrossFit a try- don’t be, just do it! Thanks Kris, Julie, Jon, Thoan, Josh, Julianna and Rachel for being so amazing at what you do and making everyone feel welcome from the moment they walk in the door.

I walked into the “box” almost one year ago, not knowing what to expect-just curious. Being a runner most of my life, I wanted to see what I could do to improve my overall strength. Day 1 was tough, week 1 was just as tough, but by week 3, things seemed a little easier. I was moving through the day less sore, more flexible, more energized come the end of the day. Each day you walk into the box, look at the board for the “workout-of-the-day” (WOD) and can say “this will be fun” or “this will be a challenge I want to take on at 110%”. Everyone is there to challenge themselves and the group is the collective pep squad.
Great people, great coaches, great fun! Be ready for life. Be CrossFit.

Within a couple months I could see physical changes in my body and I was doing movements that I never thought possible. For example, I am now able to do a strict pull-up…this is something I have NEVER been able to do in my entire life. For me this is a huge life accomplishment. Yes, I have also lost some weight, but for the first time in my life, weight loss is not my focus. CrossFit has made me realize that I want to be FITTER, not THINNER. I focus on my nutrition in order to be able to do the movements better, and the weight loss is just icing on the cake.

My favorite part of CFA is their class-oriented style of CrossFit. Warming up together, taking time to stretch/gain mobility together and the comradeship and support of its members. The coaches are extremely friendly and encourage you to push yourself to the be best you can while also understanding that everyone is at their own stage or level of fitness.
The day to day programming is excellent and Kris’s experience and overall attention to detail when it comes to learning, practicing movements and weight lifting is vital. It really helps you become better at areas that may need work. I’d recommend CFA to anyone- either just trying CrossFit for the first time or a seasoned CrossFit athlete.

I was a runner for 10 years, completing several full and half marathons. The first two months I felt pain daily. I had not realized that there were muscles I had never used, but it was the best feeling. The pain meant I was getting stronger. I went from going 3x per week to quickly signing up for the unlimited membership. Since joining, I have gone down a dress size, and feel more toned all over.
I turned 40 back in July and feel like I am in the best shape of my life. I have learned how to do movements I could not even do as a kid, like climb a rope, do a pull-up, or jump rope fast and efficiently. I love the process. It is exciting to watch myself accomplish things I never thought was possible.
The coaches are fantastic. I have learned something from each one of them and will forever be grateful for what they have taught me. I truly believe they are genuinely happy for me when I accomplish something new. The other members are so encouraging and positive. Even when I am the last to finish a workout, members still take the time to cheer for me and encourage me to keep going until I finish.

Everyone was so welcoming and this entire CrossFit gym has become my second family. The coaches are so knowledgeable and helpful. They genuinely care about the progress you make and help you do things the right way. Seeing the progress you make along the way is an indescribable feeling, knowing you’ve done something you never thought you could or would ever do. I have gained so much from joining CrossFit Ambition, and am truly grateful for the memories and relationships I’ve made.

The first thing I learned is confidence. Lifting weights is empowering in all kinds of ways. You learn you’re capable of so much more than you think. The sense of accomplishment you feel when you hit a PR or learn a new skill is unbelievable.
The second is dedication and patience. The coaches at CFA always remind me that it’s a journey not a destination. This journey of mine is filled with a constant desire to better myself both inside and outside of the gym. Even though I’m an instant gratification kind of girl, I learned that instant gratification never truly gratifies and that all good things take time and effort.
The third is humility. There’s nothing more humbling than failing over and over again, or watching other people fly through 20 butterfly pull-ups while I struggle at times to string together 5 kipping pull-ups. There is always strength and skills to be gained, and CrossFit has reminded me that I need to walk before I can run.
When I first started CrossFit, I doubted myself ALL the time. “I can’t do that” and “That’s too hard” were common thoughts in my head. However, over the past few years, I’m happy to say that I’ve proved myself wrong over and over again, and every time I did, I got a little bit stronger. Now when I come in and look at the WOD on the board I think… Yup, that’s gonna suck, but I can do it! The list of gains I have made since I started at CFA is too long to include, but if you were to ask me a couple years ago if I could back squat 185 lbs., deadlift 215 lbs., string 30 double-unders together, do toes to bar, hand-stand push-ups, kipping pull-ups or even run a mile without stopping or dying, I would have looked at you like you were from crazy town.
I’d like to end by saying CrossFit is really for anyone at any fitness level. It’s probably the most versatile and scaleable fitness program around. The movements are a perfect mix to keep us mobile, well-oiled, and ready for the years of quality life ahead of us.

I am a big believer that you should surround yourself with positive people. The community at CFA is welcoming and supportive no matter your skill level or abilities. They give motivation when you need it and celebrate with you when you’ve earned it. Having this group of friends who genuinely care about you, value a healthy lifestyle, share a similar work ethic and also love a good laugh, has led me to think of CFA as my CrossFit family. These. People. Are. Incredible.
